Camera Techniques: Key Words

Directional mics: This technique must be facing the person who is speaking, it needs to be either above them or below them.

Dolly: This technique helps to keep the camera steady ensuring that the audience has a better viewing experience - no motion thats unnecessary.

Track and dolly:  This technique helps to ensure an even smoother shot  because the dolly is on a track.

The advantages of using a dolly or a dolly and track are that you are able to follow the character effortlessly e.g when when they are walking/ running at a fast pace - you are able to create a tracking shot. Also, as some cameras can be heavy and expensive a track and dolly helps to keep your equipment safe whilst creating a smooth shot.
