Risk Assessment Forms:
Importance of Risk Assessment forms:
- Although within our media it is highly unlikely that we are to come across any forms of danger, it is important for us and other media production crews to complete a risk assessment form. Risk assessments are an important part of health and safety management plans, they help to create awareness of hazards and risks and identify who may be at risk amongst the cast and crew. The preparation of any form of risk helps us to further prevent it from happening.
Focus Group:
Importance of Focus Group Release Forms:
- It is important for us and other media productions that plan on creating a focus group to get permission and content from those we are to be interviewing. Especially in our media productions case, we decided to record the interview and publish on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGNFcBaH5_Q) It was extremely important for us to get consent off of our interviewees, as some may not be happy with being published etc - doing so without consent would be totally unethical. Thus creating a focus group release form cleared up any of these issues.
Cast Release Forms:
Importance of a Cast Release Form:
It is important for members of the cast within a media production to sign a cast release form. This is in order to avoid any later troubles that may occur, for example the actor may ask you to not use some of the footage that you have shot of them, or may not like the way they are portrayed within the film - this may conflict within your media and may lead you to having to cut scenes out of the production.
In our production we made sure we used an actor, a member of our group, who was comfortable with all the filming process and shots we were taking - but to be safe completing a cast release form has given us the ability to publish the production, with the consent of our actor.
Call Sheet Forms:
Importance of Call Sheets:
Call sheets are important within the creation of a media production because they answer the questions that everyone amongst the cast and crew will be asking. Who, when, what and where. A call sheet enables all this important information to be simplified in a straightforward way. Call sheets are to be given to everyone involved in the shoot of the media, the crew, direction and actors will all have one just to make sure that everyone knows what they're are meant to be doing and when.
Edit Log:
Edit log
Importance of an edit log:
Edit logs are an important part of any media production as they make it easier for contributors to see precisely what changes have been made to the media project. Edit logs also help to remind the editor exactly where each shot is on each source tape or source file. Whilst they can be time consuming they are extremely important to any media production.
